Before I discovered O. Winston Link....
I thought I was doing a great job at my craft. Then I found out that Mr. Link would work days on his photographs, to setup his equipment, run miles of wire for flash lighting just to get one photograph. You see, he liked to take pictures of steam trains at night. Back in the day (1940s-1950s) they only had flash bulbs. This guy made his own flash heads, which held a bunch of bulbs..That's insane! I was starting to rethink how much work I was putting into my photographs... My father always told me to do the very best I could do. I knew that. But, others visions of the best were bigger, bolder than mine. I hope I can be better by knowing you. Everyone brings something to the table. By knowing others, our vision is multiplied. Take the time to learn from others, and take the time to take great photographs!
